In an attempt to break away from the family tradition, Malcolm sold off many of his family's properties, keeping only their home in Bluewater Village and a couple small businesses. He wants nothing more than to clean up the Landgraab image, but lately it seems like something beyond his control is preventing that.

A young woman who found herself trapped in difficult circumstances, the Tricou family took Rainelle in when she was at her lowest, offering her a home and some semblance of a family who would look out for her. She felt horrible about the arrangement, though, and refused to take advantage of the generosity bestowed upon her by Jennicor and Jon, insisting the small apartment above their garage was more than enough for her when they offered a room within the House of Fallen Trees itself. She also insisted that she would not live there for free, taking up any odd jobs she possibly could in order to pay some amount of rent, though Jennicor never seemed too concerned about the amount. But things started going wrong for the Tricou family after Rainelle appeared. No one could explain it, but they began to perish one by one; some Sims thought to question Rainelle about the mysterious deaths, but her body was found instead. Some say she took her own life to escape conviction as a murderer, but no one knows the truth. The only clues came from two torn diargy pages, one found in Fricorith's bedroom noting Rainelle's odd, almost disjointed behavior and the other in Rainelle's apartment, written in shaking, scrawling letters begging for salvation.
